The Edo State Police Command has responded to a viral video exhibiting a scholar being assaulted at Igbinedion Training Centre, a non-public secondary college in Benin Metropolis.
The video, which circulated broadly on social media, captured two male college students attacking one other scholar whereas a 3rd recorded the incident.
Within the footage, one of many college students was seen dragging the sufferer by his college go well with and stomping on his chest because the boy cried in ache.
The scholar filming the incident was heard pleading with the attackers to cease.

The incident sparked outrage on-line, prompting the varsity administration to launch a direct investigation.
In a press release issued on Friday, the varsity described the behaviour as disturbing and inconsistent with its core values.
The establishment reiterated its zero-tolerance stance towards acts of violence and misconduct amongst college students.
“Following a direct investigation, the scholars accountable have been expelled from the varsity with fast impact. Such conduct won’t ever be tolerated inside our college group,” the assertion mentioned.
Reacting to the event, the Edo State Police Command mentioned bullying may represent a felony offence whatever the circumstances surrounding it.
Talking with TVC Information, the Police Public Relations Officer within the state, Eno Ikoedem, emphasised that acts of bullying are punishable below the regulation.
She mentioned: “ Assault is not only any kind of offense. It’s felony. And it has a jail time period of nothing lower than three years. So, please, we discourage younger ones, particularly these in secondary colleges to desist from such acts of bullying, cultism or every other violent crimes.”
