Mark Kimmitt, a former US State Division official, says Trump is “remaining ambiguous” over the potential for taking navy motion in opposition to Iran for its crackdown on protesters.
“He doesn’t give the Iranians particular solutions on the difficulty of whether or not we’re standing down or standing up, and I believe that ambiguity he’s passing on to the Iranians means they should assume very rigorously on their subsequent steps. He has demonstrated that he’s way more keen than earlier presidents to make use of navy pressure,” Kimmitt instructed Al Jazeera.
He defined that one navy choice for the US to probably take was to do just like the Israelis did in opposition to the Lebanese armed group, Hezbollah, and “systematically take out the management”.
