To the editor: Jeanette Marantos’ article about taking preschoolers to Disneyland introduced again fond recollections. When my daughter was 3, I bear in mind sitting on the park curb, ice cream cone in hand and ready for the parade. When a Disney character shook my daughter’s hand, effectively, at that second life was excellent.
I weaned her off child bottles by telling her Goofy had known as and requested for bottles for infants in want. She crammed our bag, which she fortunately gave to a puzzled however accepting Goofy. No sooner did we go away when she requested me to name Goofy to get them again. I stated they had been already given away. She accepted it and it labored — no extra bottles.
Take your preschooler — it’s a giant price ticket however the recollections are priceless.

To the editor: Most of my profession has been in theme park growth. My finest tip for having fun with Disneyland with a preschooler — go to Legoland first! The entire park has been designed with younger kids in thoughts. The peak restrictions preclude grownups, not kids. There a baby can get acclimated to theme park tradition and procedures resembling smaller crowds, shorter strains, and fewer emotional funding in a lower-stakes setting.
Definitely, Disneyland is the top of theme park magic and a touchstone expertise for any youngster. However restrict how a lot “new” the kid wants to soak up by beginning at Legoland. It’s loads of enjoyable.
(Full disclosure: I’ve by no means been employed by Legoland, invested in Legoland, or been contracted for work on any Legoland tasks.)
