To the editor: As a longtime subscriber and each day reader of the L.A. Occasions, and as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for greater than 50 years, I have to defend the church and gospel I like in opposition to the views expressed by Tara Rowland within the article on Arizona’s Mormon vote.
The reality is that former President Trump is just not in “line with our values” in any respect. His selfishness, his meanness, his caustic feedback on authorized migrants and on anybody who disagrees with him, his punitive and costly insurance policies (corresponding to his tariffs, which price us billions) and his fixed lies are definitely not reflections of our values.
Moreover, the E-book of Mormon data that the start of the downfall of the Nephite authorities was an election-denying and mendacity man who fomented revolt.
I’m voting for the “values” of serving to others, fiscal knowledge, a robust protection and mutual respect for neighbors. That’s definitely not Trump.
Oh, and by the way in which, displaying a “Cucks for Harris” signal as Rowland has is completely flawed for any true disciple of Christ (which is what the LDS Church teaches us to be).

To the editor: The Mormon girl citing her case for Trump misplaced my regard from the beginning by each her crude yard signal and her assertion that there have been a number of folks in her congregation who “had been stuffed with it.”
Whereas placing up a pro-Trump signal and voting for him is definitely her proper, this type of nastiness to others doesn’t show the Christian values that she claims to uphold.
She does cite a pair insurance policies which may moderately clarify her selections, however contemplating that Trump has waffled repeatedly in keeping with prevailing winds on abortion and different points she cares about, it appears nonsensical that she locations her belief in somebody she describes, in her personal phrases, as a clownish buffoon.
