HAWTHORNE, Fla. – A 44-year-old Ft. Myers man was killed this morning whereas strolling in a journey lane of U.S. Hwy 301 in Hawthorne.
In line with a launch from the Florida Freeway Patrol, at about 6:10 a.m. on April 19, a sedan pushed by a 47-year-old Gibston man was touring northbound on U.S. Hwy 301 close to SE forty first Lane when it struck a pedestrian strolling in the precise northbound journey lane of the freeway.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on the scene, and the driving force of the sedan suffered minor accidents.
Florida Freeway Patrol is investigating the crash.
