A 19-year-old British lady has died in Vietnam after a reported motorcycle crash.
The Overseas Workplace stated it was supporting the household of Orla Wates after her “tragic dying” within the nation.
In line with native media, she was concerned in an accident on the Ha Giang Loop, a preferred route for highway journeys in northern Vietnam, winding by the mountains close to the border with China.
Viet Nam News reported she died on the Viet Duc Friendship Hospital within the capital, Hanoi, on 2 April.
Her dad and mom, Andrew and Henrietta Wates, informed the outlet she “lived life to the complete”.
“Orla was lovely, impartial and really humorous, with a pointy wit,” they stated.
Her mom thanked the hospital’s Dr Trịnh Van Dong and its emergency care workforce for caring for Ms Wates – and stated her organs had been donated to avoid wasting others.
She informed Viet Nam Information it is “what Orla would have wished”.
“Realizing that she resides on by them brings us nice consolation,” she stated.
In an interview shared on the hospital’s social media, she added: “It’s our means of thanking you.”

The Overseas Workplace confirmed its consular employees are supporting Ms Wates’ household.
“Our ideas are with the household and mates of Orla Wates, following her tragic dying in Vietnam,” stated a press release.
“We’re in contact with the native authorities, and our consular employees are doing all they’ll to assist Orla’s household at this massively tough time.”
