Strain is rising for a renewed deal to launch extra Israeli hostages after IDF troopers mistakenly shot and killed three Israeli hostages who had escaped from Hamas. José Díaz-Balart is joined by Richard Engel, Colin Clarke, Director of Coverage and Analysis on the Soufan Group, and retired 4 star Gen. Barry McCaffrey to debate the chance of one other short-term ceasefire and the worsening humanitarian disaster in Gaza. On the capturing of three Israeli hostages, Clarke says, “I do suppose the whole incident, as tragic because it was, is an impetus for renewed diplomacy. For the US, the Egyptians, the Qataris and others which have been concerned, to make this the difficulty on the desk. We all know that intelligence chiefs have been assembly towards this finish and we’re hoping to see some progress within the coming days.”
