Amid blistering heatwaves, July is “just about sure” to be the world’s warmest month on document, say scientists.
So scorching has the month been thus far that researchers are assured the 2019 document will likely be damaged, even with a number of days to go.
UN chief Antonio Guterres mentioned the planet is getting into an “period of worldwide boiling”.
Scientists agree the additional warmth is especially linked to fossil gasoline use.
