KYIV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on Monday (Dec 23) that greater than 3,000 North Korean troopers have been killed and wounded in Russia’s Kursk area and warned that Pyongyang might ship extra personnel and tools for Moscow’s military.
“There are dangers of North Korea sending extra troops and army tools to the Russian military,” Zelenskyy stated on X after receiving a report from his high army commander Oleksandr Syrskyi.
“We may have tangible responses to this,” he added.
The estimate of North Korean losses is larger than that supplied by Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Employees (JCS), which stated on Monday not less than 1,100 North Korean troops had been killed or wounded.
The evaluation was consistent with a briefing final week by South Korea’s spy company, which reported some 100 deaths with one other 1,000 wounded within the area.
Zelenskyy stated he cited preliminary information. Reuters couldn’t independently confirm reviews on fight losses.
