A plan to construct the world’s first octopus farm has raised deep issues amongst scientists over the welfare of the famously clever creatures.
The farm in Spain’s Canary Islands would increase about 1,000,000 octopuses yearly for meals, in keeping with confidential paperwork seen by the BBC.
They’ve by no means been intensively farmed and a few scientists name the proposed icy water slaughtering methodology “merciless.”
The Spanish multinational behind the plans denies the octopuses will undergo.
