In an unprecedented transfer, fighter pilots in an elite Israeli Air Drive squadron have vowed to not attend coaching, in help of the rising opposition and protests towards the federal government’s plans to overtake the authorized system.
The nationalist, non secular coalition led by Benjamin Netanyahu is searching for adjustments to the justice system which protestors, together with pilots and reservists within the elite 8200 intelligence unit, say undermines judicial independence and threatens democracy.
Throughout the previous two months of protests, the crowds have been met by stun grenades and water cannons. Elsewhere many supporters of Mr Netanyahu again the federal government and his deliberate reforms, inflicting rifts in society which Israel’s President Issac Herzog final month warned leaves the nation on the point of constitutional and social collapse.
