Hungarian right-wing populist Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Thursday expressed his pleasure after a controversial movement on migration reforms handed within the German parliament with votes from the far proper.
“Good morning, Germany,” Orbán wrote on X in German. He added in English, “Welcome to the membership!”
The Hungarian chief has confronted criticism for his hard-line stance on migration, having erected a border fence with Serbia and refused asylum seekers entry.
On Wednesday, the far-right AfD helped to narrowly cross a non-binding five-point plan for a harder migration coverage tabled by the opposition conservatives by the Bundestag, Germany’s decrease home of parliament.
The transfer was extraordinarily controversial, marking the primary time the AfD have been relied upon to type a majority for a vote within the Bundestag.
