Archaeologists on Thursday (July 3) revealed the invention of a 3,500-year-old metropolis in Peru, believed to have been a key buying and selling hub connecting Pacific coastal societies with these within the Andes and Amazon areas. Named Penico, the town dates again to between 1800 and 1500 BC and is situated within the northern province of Barranca. It lies close to the location of the traditional Caral civilisation, which is thought to be the oldest within the Americas, relationship again 5,000 years.
