To the editor: Columnist Robin Abcarian could be very blase and nonchalant when she states, “It could take 4 ugly years, however belief me, the pendulum will finally swing again towards regular. It at all times does.” (“Don’t fall into total despair, Harris supporters. There was some good election night news,” editorial, Nov. 7)
4 years is a very long time by which nice harm could be carried out to girls’s rights and reproductive freedom. 4 years is a very long time by which the rights of immigrants and their households could be trampled.
We have to discover methods to protest and resist now and never watch for the pendulum to swing again to “regular.”

To the editor: Abcarian reminds readers that, “When politicians go too far, voters slap them again towards the middle.” I wholeheartedly agree.
What she and Vice President Kamala Harris and the overwhelming majority of the media fail to grasp is that this election validates her phrases. The American folks loudly repudiated a celebration that oversaw the prosecution of its chief political opponent in a number of state and federal courts. It labeled him and his 70 million-plus supporters as fascists, Nazis and rubbish, and it ignored the need of 14 million Democratic main votes to crown Harris because the nominee.
Abcarian writes, “The pendulum will finally swing again towards regular.” It already has.

To the editor: I loved and located hope in Abcarian’s piece about not falling into whole despair. There have been some groundbreaking positive aspects for Democrats on this election, albeit small ones.
With the Republicans’ overwhelming wins, I’m reminded of the expression, “Give them sufficient rope, they usually’ll hold themselves.” Abcarian places it extra politely, saying it received’t take lengthy for People to tire of the inevitable chaos and cruelty of a second Trump administration.
Both means, I consider the subsequent 4 years shall be a debacle. My solely hope is that it’s the folks on the high who are suffering, not abnormal People.

To the editor: Abcarian writes, “People have chosen, for the second time, an unhinged, misogynistic, racist strongman for president.”
It’s exactly these advert hominem insults that contributed to former President Trump’s reelection. Abcarian’s vituperative assaults in opposition to Trump are actually ineffective and irrelevant, as a result of he received the battle and now she’s serving to him win the battle.
