Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu and Civil Aviation Ministers of North India additionally attended the convention.     The Chief Minister stated that at present 18 heliports are being developed in Uttarakhand, out of which companies have began at 12.

    He stated that heli companies have develop into not solely a way of transport in hilly states like Uttarakhand, however have additionally develop into a lifeline. “Be it catastrophe administration, well being companies or pilgrimage, helicopter companies have supplied unprecedented comfort in these areas”.

    Chief Minister Dhami urged the Union Civil Aviation Ministry to formulate a separate “Mountain Aviation Policy” for mountain states, which ought to embody provisions reminiscent of particular monetary help, subsidy for operations, appropriate ATC community for mountain areas, correct climate forecast, slotting and pre-disaster preparation.

    The Chief Minister additionally requested all operators to offer particular pilot coaching for mountain flights, strict adherence to security requirements and make sure the security of passengers. In the meantime, earlier within the day, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu introduced that the federal government is engaged on a plan in the direction of the enlargement of airports and helipads in hilly areas of the nation.

    Naidu said that below the Regional Connectivity Scheme, a number of airports from Jammu and Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh are being constructed.
