The plane service USS Harry S. Truman was in a collision with a service provider vessel within the Mediterranean Sea close to Egypt, the Navy mentioned Thursday. There have been no reviews of accidents or flooding after the collision, a Navy spokesperson mentioned in a press release.
The collision occurred late Wednesday evening close to Port Mentioned, Egypt, based on a press release from Navy Cmdr. Timothy Gorman, a spokesperson for the sixth Fleet.
The collision is beneath investigation.
The Truman was approaching the Suez Canal to go from the Mediterranean Sea to the Purple Sea, a Navy official instructed CBS Information. There is no evaluation right now which vessel was at fault, the official mentioned.
The Truman sustained some harm above the waterline, the official mentioned. It wasn’t clear if it will likely be entering into for repairs.
The service’s propulsion wasn’t affected by the collision, the official mentioned.

The service’s strike group was within the japanese Mediterranean after about two months of fight operations in U.S. Central Command’s space of accountability, which incorporates components of the Center East, based on the 2nd Fleet.
