The US navy stated it performed precision airstrikes on December 21 towards a missile storage facility and a command-and-control facility operated by Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa. In a press release, the US navy’s Central Command stated the strikes aimed to “disrupt and degrade Houthi operations, corresponding to assaults towards US Navy warships and service provider vessels within the Southern Crimson Sea, Bab al-Mandeb, and Gulf of Aden.” The US navy additionally stated it struck a number of Houthi one-way drones and an anti-ship cruise missile over the Crimson Sea.
