The U.S. military carried out one other strike on a suspected drug vessel, this time within the Japanese Pacific, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth introduced Wednesday.
The strike Tuesday in opposition to a ship allegedly carrying medication is the eighth performed by the Trump administration. The earlier seven occurred within the Caribbean.
“Yesterday, on the course of President Trump, the Division of Struggle performed a deadly kinetic strike on a vessel being operated by a Designated Terrorist Group and conducting narco-trafficking within the Japanese Pacific. The vessel was recognized by our intelligence to be concerned in illicit narcotics smuggling, was transiting alongside a recognized narco-trafficking transit route, and carrying narcotics,” Hegseth mentioned.
“There have been two narco-terrorists aboard the vessel in the course of the strike, which was performed in worldwide waters. Each terrorists had been killed and no U.S. forces had been harmed on this strike,” he added.

Earlier this week, Hegseth introduced that three alleged narco-terrorists had been killed in a U.S. strike on a drug smuggling vessel affiliated with Colombia’s Nationwide Liberation Military.
That “deadly kinetic strike” occurred Friday in worldwide waters on the course of President Donald Trump, Hegseth wrote in a submit on X.
“The vessel was recognized by our intelligence to be concerned in illicit narcotics smuggling, was touring alongside a recognized narco-trafficking route, and was transporting substantial quantities of narcotics,” Hegseth wrote. “There have been three male narco-terrorists aboard the vessel in the course of the strike—which was performed in worldwide waters.”
“All three terrorists had been killed and no U.S. forces had been harmed on this strike,” he added.

Colombia’s Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN) is a designated terrorist organization. Hegseth likened the Colombian insurgent group to the al Qaeda terror group based by Usama bin Laden in Afghanistan.
