The plea is a part of a decades-long effort to clear Garvey’s identify, who was convicted of mail fraud in 1923 following a marketing campaign of presidency surveillance and concentrating on – costs Rep. Barbara Lee, one of many letter’s co-signers, calls “fabricated.” “There’s plenty of unfinished enterprise in America because it pertains to African American fairness and justice,” says Rep. Lee.
