The United Nations Safety Council has authorised the deployment of a multi-national safety pressure to Haiti.
It is designed to assist the Haitian police battle closely armed gangs which have turn out to be more and more highly effective there.
However it’s not clear when the pressure will arrive, or who, apart from Kenya, will contribute to it.
