Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has underlined he’ll make no territorial concessions to Russia forward of a scheduled assembly between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin on the way forward for the conflict in Ukraine.
The US-Russia assembly is due to take place in Alaska on 15 August.
Hours earlier than saying the assembly, Trump had signalled Ukraine may need to cede territory to finish the conflict, which started with Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022.
Zelensky mentioned in a Telegram publish on Saturday that “Ukrainians is not going to give their land to the occupier”. He reiterated that Ukraine should be concerned in any answer for peace, and mentioned he is able to work with companions for a “actual” and “lasting” peace.
Zelensky mentioned Ukraine “is not going to give Russia awards for what it has accomplished”.
