The UAE and the US have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to determine a complete defence partnership.
This represents a shared dedication to develop a structured roadmap for enhanced cooperation, joint functionality improvement, and long-term defence alignment.
The 2 sides will discover a phased framework for advancing bilateral pressure readiness, interoperability and innovation-driven collaboration.
Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of State for Defence Affairs and Pete Hegseth, United States Secretary of Defence, signed the LOI in a proper ceremony on the UAE Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abu Dhabi not too long ago.
As a part of this partnership, the 2 sides additionally introduced a strategic initiative between the US Protection Innovation Unit (DIU) and the UAE’s Tawazun Council to facilitate joint analysis and improvement, and increase industrial and funding partnerships.
Moreover, the UAE was formally welcomed into the US Nationwide Guard State Partnership Programme (SPP) via a partnership with the Texas Nationwide Guard.
It will bolster navy modernisation efforts and improve cooperation in built-in air and missile defence, cybersecurity, catastrophe response and operational planning.
