Two males have been arrested in reference to the theft and ransom of two canines in Switzerland, police stated Saturday.
The canines’ proprietor, a 59-year-old Swiss man, returned to his condo in Zurich’s Schlieren neighborhood on Feb. 24 and located that his two Bolonka canines had been stolen, Swiss police said in a news release. The thieves left a blackmail letter demanding 1 million Swiss francs, or about $1,135,271, to launch the canines.
The American Kennel Club describes Bolonka canines as a pleasant, affectionate breed of toy canines. The small canines are a member of the Bichon household and have been bred as home pets. The price to purchase a Bolonka pet is between $1,500 and $3,000, based on sales listed by the AKC.

The canines’ proprietor, who was not been recognized, known as the police, who started investigating the theft. On Thursday, they arrested a 30-year-old Norwegian man at Zurich Airport. Police stated the Norwegian man was about to depart the nation. He’s now in custody in Switzerland, police stated.
Additional investigations led police to Poland. Investigators decided {that a} 38-year-old Polish man was “presumably concerned within the theft.” Polish police arrested the person on March 5. Additional investigations can be dealt with by Polish police, officers stated.
Polish police discovered the 2 canines on the house. The canines’ proprietor traveled to Poland and regained custody of the canines on Friday.
