    Tokushima, Jul 06 (News On Japan) –
    The manufacturing of sukumo, the fermented indigo dye utilized in conventional Japanese textiles, is now in full swing in Kamiita, Tokushima Prefecture.

    At a neighborhood facility, freshly harvested indigo leaves are fed right into a machine that finely shreds them. A big fan then separates the leaf from the stem by weight—lighter leaves are blown additional away whereas the heavier stems fall near the machine, permitting for clear separation.
