Three Israeli troopers have been killed by an Egyptian policeman in shootings in Israeli territory close to the border with Egypt, Israel’s navy says.
An investigation with the Egyptian military has been launched, it provides.
Egypt’s navy stated its safety officer had crossed a checkpoint whereas chasing drug traffickers.
The Israeli navy has stated the shootings have been assumed to be related with a drug smuggling operation it had carried out in a single day.
