The Road less travelled. « A Call To The Remnant

The street much less travelled. The slim path.

It was a price that needed to be counted. It was a street that needed to be walked alone. Greater than eighteen years in the past, I started the web-sight of “A Name to the Remnant,” realizing full properly that such a path wouldn’t be widespread. But the Lord impressed upon me to talk to the remnant, encourage them that they don’t seem to be alone, and don’t concern your self with those that are drawn to personalities or positions of affect. To talk of struggling and endurance. To concentrate on taking on one’s cross every day. None of those topics have been or are widespread.

In each sphere of life, even inside the realms of revival and now the so-called “remnant motion,” there may be the ever-present temptation to be seen as a pacesetter. This should be resisted in any respect prices. For the decision of Christ is to not innovate or to collect followers, however to return. To return to the outdated paths, to rediscover what has been forsaken, to not reimagine or redesign it.

“Thus says the Lord, ‘Stand within the methods and see, and ask for the outdated paths, the place the great manner is, and stroll in it, then you will see that relaxation to your souls’” (Jeremiah 6:16).

Ours is the traditional path. It’s the street of the cross, the way in which of dying every day, of fellowshipping in His sufferings. It’s not the street of crowds and applause, however of quiet obedience and sacred obscurity. It’s not about drawing consideration to ourselves, however fairly retreating to the mountains the place solely the Father sees.

“Then Jesus went out to the mountain to hope, and continued all night time in prayer to God” (Luke 6:12).

To take up the cross is to refuse the limelight. It’s to choose the valley of humility to the heights of acclaim. It’s to labor for an unseen Kingdom, to talk to the few who’re prepared to stroll the slim manner.

“If anybody wishes to come back after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross every day, and observe Me” (Luke 9:23).

“Enter by the slim gate, for extensive is the gate and broad is the way in which that results in destruction, and there are lots of who go in by it. As a result of slim is the gate and tough is the way in which which results in life, and there are few who discover it” (Matthew 7:13–14).

To be unknown on this world, and but recognized in heaven, that is our portion. We abide beneath the shadow of His wing. The world could not perceive us, however the Spirit bears witness that we’re His.

“He who dwells within the secret place of the Most Excessive shall abide beneath the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1).

We aren’t known as to construct actions. We aren’t known as to copy the equipment of males. We’re known as to bear witness. We’re known as to stroll in reality and in love, to talk to the few, the weary, the damaged, those who starvation and thirst for righteousness.

“Allow us to go forth to Him, outdoors the camp, bearing His reproach” (Hebrews 13:13).
“To your fellowship within the gospel from the primary day till now, being assured of this very factor, that He who has begun a very good work in you’ll full it till the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:5–6).

That is the way in which of the wilderness. That is the way in which of the cross. It’s not the world’s manner, the trail of affect and luxury, however the Lord’s manner,the slim manner. It’s the street that results in life.
