To the editor: The tragedy of the Los Angeles fires has been devastating, however within the weeks since a brand new drawback looms. I’ve examine it on this paper and on-line, and it nags at my thoughts. (“L.A. recovery czar vents over working for free: ‘I was lied to,’” Feb. 25)
There are a lot of points affecting tens of 1000’s, however one is rising above all others: Will Steve Soboroff, L.A. Mayor Karen Bass’ fireplace restoration czar, find the money for? To that finish, I’m kicking off my “SOS” initiative: Save our Steve!

To the editor: Soboroff was quoted as saying, “You attempt spending 35 years out of the center of your life not charging anyone for something, and sending 5 children to Harvard-Westlake.”
All through my complete profession as a public faculty trainer, I like many different lecturers volunteered with out charging something — and nonetheless managed to coach our youngsters and on a wage that’s a fraction of what Soboroff makes.

To the editor: The Pacific Palisades rebuilding operations are very complicated, to place it charitably.
Soboroff is the “czar,” though he appears fairly sad about not getting his $500,000.
Developer Rick Caruso has fashioned a committee of business heavyweights to supply who is aware of what enter. At the very least one different related committee has been introduced.
The mayor has employed a consulting agency. The scope of its work and remuneration are unknown to the general public.
Are all of those teams going to take route from Soboroff? Will he have the ultimate say on the plan, or will the mayor, Metropolis Council and highly effective Palisades residents take situation with all or a part of it?
It is going to be fascinating to see this fought out within the pages of The Instances.
