The Advisory Committee (AC) launched its work in the present day with an inaugural assembly on the Headquarters of the United Nations Help Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) in Tripoli. Deputy Particular Consultant of the Secretary-Basic (DSRSG) Stephanie Koury welcomed the members and highlighted the AC’s key position as a part of the inclusive, intra-Libyan political course of designed to interrupt the present political deadlock.
Referencing her briefing to the Safety Council final December, DSRSG Koury defined that the AC, isn’t a decision-making physique. This Committee will generate technically sound and politically viable proposals to handle contentious points within the electoral framework.
