Tehran’s Cyber Police Chief, Brigadier Common Davood Moazzami Goudarzi, introduced a crackdown on people inflicting public misery by means of “hidden digital camera” and Instagram problem movies. This initiative led to the identification and closure of 40 Instagram accounts.
Brig. Gen. Goudarzi acknowledged on Sunday that the investigation started following widespread public complaints about people exploiting social media for fame and followers. These people allegedly created disruptive and provocative content material, usually resulting in road altercations.
The suspects, collectively amassing over 5 million followers, have been summoned for investigation after preliminary inquiries. Following judicial procedures, all implicated accounts have been deactivated.
The police chief emphasised that cyber police wouldn’t tolerate such actions that disrupt public peace and psychological safety. “We’ll strictly implement the legislation in opposition to these exploiting the digital house for egocentric motives on the expense of residents’ well-being,” he stated.
Goudarzi urged the general public to report related incidents to the Cyber Police.
