Syria’s Interim President Ahmed Al Sharaa is in Turkiye’s capital, Ankara, for important discussions with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The 2 leaders centered on Syria’s financial challenges and safety issues. One key difficulty was Ankara’s demand for Kurdish fighters, particularly these alongside Syria’s border, to put down their arms.
