Larger Training Artwork, Design & Media college students from Selby Faculty have launched a month-long sustainability-themed exhibition at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet York this week.
A brand new piece of paintings is being put in every week all through the exhibition, which shall be on show to the 1000’s of tourists the buying centre attracts.
Paul Tyler, Centre Supervisor at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet York, stated: “We’re delighted to have partnered with Selby Faculty on this challenge which not solely promotes sustainability, however helps and encourages native artists. The exhibition is already being loved by our friends and we look ahead to supporting extra initiatives with the Faculty sooner or later.”
Pupil Ruby Duffy, whose paintings was the primary to be displayed on the Designer Outlet, stated: “I put loads of consideration and labour into creating my exhibition, so it feels superb to have my work displayed at Designer Outlet York. Creating sustainable paintings has been embedded into the scholars’ studio apply, which has seen them design items that are made out of recycled supplies.

The work of the Faculty’s gifted Larger Training Artwork, Design & Media college students may even be on show as a part of the Division’s end-of-year reveals, which is able to happen on Thursday 12 June and Thursday 19 June 2025.
Along side the Coronary heart of Yorkshire Training Group’s Sustainability Week, Stage 1 and Stage 2 Artwork & Design college students shall be exhibiting their eco-friendly paintings at Selby Abbey on Monday 17 March 2025.
As a part of the challenge, the scholars have produced items by gathering and reusing waste supplies, with Selby Abbey’s artists in residency, Mandy Keating and Helen Brook, offering them with suggestions on their items.
Making their mark on Selby Abbey, Stage 3 Artwork & Design college students may even be participating in a lightweight challenge exhibition on the venue alongside NowThen Artistic and set up gentle artists, Henrick and Palmer.
