9 safety officers had been killed and no less than 13 others had been wounded throughout a bomb assault in southwest Pakistan.
The blast occurred in Balochistan province when the officers had been returning to the provincial capital Quetta, after policing the Sibi pageant, an annual cultural occasion.
Preliminary proof means that it was a suicide assault, police say.
No group has claimed duty.
