To the editor: I proceed to be saddened and perplexed by our nation’s skill to assume it’s OK to kill an harmless individual in change for vengeance or punishment. (“What kind of country would kill Marcellus Williams despite the doubts about his conviction?” Opinion, Sept. 29)
By that, I imply that I doubt there may be anybody who believes that our justice system is 100% excellent, and those that assist the demise penalty should due to this fact settle for that individuals are being killed who’re harmless.
Our acceptance of capital punishment is one other instance of the horrifying cognitive dissonance that infects a lot of this nation. Disgrace!

To the editor: Let’s be clear about this — Marcellus Williams wasn’t killed by a rustic. He was killed by Missouri Gov. Michael L. Parson and a corrupt U.S. Supreme Court docket — within the face of exculpatory proof and St. Louis County’s chief prosecutor saying he needs to be spared — as a result of he was Black.
Getting powerful on crime doesn’t occur to wealthy white folks, does it? Have a look at the Republican presidential candidate and all who participated in his a number of efforts to deprave and mislead our as soon as nice nation.
In reality, the U.S. Supreme Court docket even rewrote a part of the Structure to grant Trump immunity from prison acts not contemplated by the founders.
I’m a loyal, patriotic American. I refuse to take the blame for this. As they are saying, not in my title.
