The banjo-picked ballad weaves a fancy narrative, utilizing the historic persecution of Galileo as an allegory for the rise of anti-science rhetoric through the international pandemic.
MacDonald explains the track’s gravity: “This track was written concerning the pandemic. In America we noticed exhausted front-line docs and nurses being spit on and harassed by the very folks they have been obligated to assist, it was an alarming regression that I assumed we left again within the Center Ages, however clearly we didn’t. I needed to make use of the story of Galileo, the enduring insurgent of science, to attract a direct parallel to the identical ignorance and anti-science confusion we noticed in 2020.”
