At the least ten individuals have been injured in an explosion at grain silos close to the port of Derince in western Turkey, in accordance with media reviews.
The rationale for the explosion at about 2:40pm (11:40 GMT) close to Turkish Grain Board (TMO) silos was not instantly clear.
“We heard an explosion noise, and we noticed the explosion hit TMO’s silos. 4 injured individuals have been despatched to hospital,” Derince Mayor Zeki Akgun was quoted as saying by state broadcaster TRT.
Police mentioned they’d launched an investigation into the incident.
Movies on social media confirmed an enormous cloud of smoke.
