About Savannah
A brief drive (solely about 4 hours) from my dwelling in Athens, Savannah is the oldest metropolis in Georgia. Basic James Earl Oglethorpe based Savannah in 1733. Usually referred to as “America’s first deliberate metropolis,” Savannah’s designers laid it out in a grid with 24 squares.
Initially used as areas for colonists to apply militia coaching workout routines, the 22 remaining squares are lovely inexperienced areas for the general public to collect in park-like settings.
