If the Grammys are music’s largest evening, the VMAs are undoubtedly its wildest, particularly when it comes to the fashion.
At MTV’s annual awards present, we’ve seen Rose McGowan shock viewers in a barely-there beaded dress, Lil’ Kim take the stage in a purple sequined jumpsuit and matching pasty, Britney Spears dance in a glowing nude mesh set and Christina Aguilera model a shawl as a skimpy prime — all inside the span of simply 5 years.
So, who stood out style-wise on 2025’s purple carpet? Sabrina Carpenter brought the heat in red-hot Valentino, pairing her glowing, see-through lace robe with a fluffy lavender feather boa — maybe a sartorial nod to “The Lifetime of a Showgirl,” her upcoming collaboration with fellow pop celebrity Taylor Swift.
Camp style icon Doja Cat paired her harlequin-patterned Balmain dress with perilously excessive platforms and — the playful pièce de résistance — a $5,995 crystallized Judith Leiber Couture clutch formed like an outsized tube of lipstick, from which she procured a tube of the particular make-up to use (and, later, eat) in entrance of photographers.
Ariana Grande traded Glinda pink for Fendi polka dots, trying fairly and polished as ever in her strapless peplum robe with an identical noticed scarf tied round her signature ponytail.
And each Tyla and Ciara selected to depart their pants at house for the night, with the previous in a classic Chanel corset prime and the latter in a scarlet neoprene bomber by Schiaparelli.
Under, our best-dressed picks from the VMAs 2025 purple carpet.
