Russia has withdrawn its troops from the strategic Ukrainian city of Lyman, in a transfer seen as a major setback for its marketing campaign within the east.
The retreat got here amid fears 1000’s of troopers can be encircled within the city, Russia’s defence ministry mentioned.
Recapturing Lyman is of strategic significance for Ukraine. The city had been used as a logistics hub by Russia, and will give Ukrainian troops entry to extra territory within the Donetsk and Luhansk areas.
