A river in a suburb of Buenos Aires in Argentina has turned pink, sparking concern amongst residents.
Footage and pictures of the Sarandi watercourse – which flows into the Rio de la Plata estuary – present the sudden change in color.
It isn’t the primary time it has modified color, based on native media stories, with residents elevating fears of contamination.
“I’ve lived right here all my life. In the present day, now we have this pink water. It has been gray, it has been inexperienced, it has been violet, bluish… very brown,” one resident instructed La Nacion.
“On different days now we have a thick yellow layer that left the highest exhausting and had an acidic scent,” one other native instructed Pagina 12.
Officers have been to the positioning to remove samples of the pink water for testing.
The area’s surroundings ministry instructed La Nacion samples of the water can be analysed to seek out out what “is inflicting the discolouration”.
