Placing all politics apart, my reflection is that of Christian perspective. Jesus spoke about the necessity to love one’s enemy, to do good to those who hate us. That is exhausting, however what’s it Jesus is attempting to induce us to mirror on. Is it not merely a matter of being a doormat, turning the opposite cheek in all circumstances and easily showing weak within the face of aggression. I believe Jesus was onto one thing far stronger. Years in the past, I learnt the maxim, ‘behaviour breeds behaviour’.
