Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated on Saturday India’s defence manufacturing has reached an all-time excessive of ₹1.5 lakh crore in fiscal yr 2024-25.

“The annual defence manufacturing has soared to an all-time excessive determine of ₹1,50,590 crore within the monetary yr 2024-25,” Rajnath Singh stated in a social media put up on X.
“These numbers point out a strong 18 per cent development over the earlier fiscal’s output of ₹1.27 lakh crore, and a staggering 90 per cent enhance since 2019-20, when the determine was ₹79,071 crore,” he added.
Singh recommended the “collective efforts” of the Division of Defence Manufacturing and all stakeholders, together with the defence public sector models and the personal trade, in attaining what he referred to as a “landmark”.
“This upward trajectory is a transparent indicator of India’s strengthening defence industrial base,” he stated.
In accordance with an official assertion, Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and different PSUs accounted for about 77% of complete manufacturing, whereas the personal sector contributed 23%. The share of the personal sector, which elevated from 21% in FY 2023-24 to 23% in FY 2024-25, displays the sector’s rising position within the defence ecosystem of the nation.
