Queen Elizabeth II, the UK’s longest-serving monarch, has died at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.
The Queen got here to the throne in 1952 and witnessed huge social change.
Together with her loss of life, her eldest son Charles, the previous Prince of Wales, will lead the nation in mourning as the brand new King and head of state for 14 Commonwealth realms.
In an announcement, Buckingham Palace mentioned: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.”
