Russia’s president is accusing Wagner mercenaries of treason and betrayal.
In his handle to the nation, Vladimir Putin promised a swift response to the insurrection within the southern metropolis of Rostov-on-Don and stated Yevgeny Prigozhin’s group represents a risk to Russia’s inside safety.
Police raided Wagner’s St Petersburg headquarters and Prigozhin is being investigated for inciting armed mutiny.
