Prime Video has one other streaming hit on its fingers — and this one’s the definition of a simple binge. Two months after its premiere, We Were Liars is still holding strong within the streamer’s Prime 10 TV Reveals within the U.S. As of August 18, the eight-episode psychological thriller sits at No. 5, behind solely Ballard, Countdown, Butterfly, and The Summer I Turned Pretty. That’s a powerful feat contemplating We Have been Liars dropped on June 18 — but followers are nonetheless urgent play lengthy after the same old post-binge drop-off.
Based on the best-selling 2014 novel by E. Lockhart, the collection comes from Vampire Diaries duo Julie Plec and Carina Adly McKenzie. The story follows Cadence Sinclair Eastman and her close-knit group of associates, “the Liars,” throughout their summers spent on their wealthy grandfather’s private New England island. On the floor, the Sinclairs seem like a picture-perfect household — outdated cash, beauty, and custom. However after a tragic accident, secrets and techniques bubble up that show no one is as put-together as they appear.
Emily Alyn Lind leads the cast as Cadence, with Shubham Maheshwari as Gat Patil, Esther McGregor as Mirren Sinclair Sheffield, and Joseph Zada as Johnny Sinclair Dennis rounding out the Liars. The grownup solid is stacked too, with Caitlin FitzGerald, Mamie Gummer, Candice King, Rahul Kohli, and David Morse because the patriarch Harris Sinclair.
What Else Is on Prime Video Proper Now?
The endurance of We Have been Liars provides to Prime Video’s rising rep as a hub for book-to-screen diversifications. Alongside fellow chart-topper The Summer season I Turned Fairly, the streamer has turned novels like Bosch, Cross, The Terminal Listing, and Reacher into crowd-pleasing collection.
