Benedict had been “noble” and “sort” – and “gifted” to the Roman Catholic Church, the Pope mentioned.
US President Joe Biden and Brazilian President Lula are amongst dozens of leaders to reward the previous pontiff.
Benedict resigned in 2013 due to poor well being – the primary pope to take action.
