Regardless of ongoing peace talks, preventing continues in elements of DR Congo between native forces and Rwanda-backed M23 rebels. The M23 has taken management of a lot of the japanese a part of DR Congo since January – its first main advance being the seize of Goma in North Kivu province. Award-winning photojournalist Hugh Kinsella Cunningham has been documenting these takeovers in addition to their affect on civilians. Talking on FRANCE 24’s Perspective programme, he described how civilians had been ordered by the rebels to go away displacement camps and return to their villages, which had been ravaged by preventing.
