    NEW YORK – International Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo reaffirmed the Philippines’ dedication to multilateralism and international peace as he laid out the nation’s priorities in its bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Safety Council (UNSC) for the 2027-2028 time period.

    Talking earlier than greater than 300 diplomats and visitors in the course of the diplomatic reception commemorating the 127th anniversary of Philippine independence, Manalo emphasised the Philippines’ position as Asia’s first republic and its longstanding dedication to equality amongst nations.

    “The Philippines will carry to the Safety Council 80 years of multilateral expertise, a convention of principled diplomacy, and a readiness to hear, have interaction, and lead with goal,” Manalo stated in his keynote tackle on the Philippine Middle in New York.
