Commerce unions, college students and transport staff in Peru have began a three-day strike in opposition to rising crime.
It coincides with a world summit.
Protesters rejected calls from the president to postpone the motion – as a result of it might hurt the nation’s picture.
President Dina Boularte is asking protesters to postpone the strike urging them to not hurt, the nation’s picture.
However Peruvians say that safety is their prime precedence.
