ISLAMABAD: Pakistan condemned on Sunday (Jun 22) the strikes ordered on its neighbour Iran by Donald Trump, a day after Islamabad had mentioned it could nominate the US President for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Pakistan on Sunday mentioned Trump’s choice to bomb Iranian nuclear services violated worldwide regulation and that diplomacy was the one solution to resolve the Iran disaster.
“The unprecedented escalation of stress and violence, owing to ongoing aggression towards Iran is deeply disturbing. Any additional escalation of tensions could have severely damaging implications for the area and past,” Pakistan’s Ministry of Overseas Affairs mentioned.
Additionally on Sunday, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif telephoned Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and “conveyed Pakistan’s condemnation of the US assaults,” a press release from the Pakistani chief mentioned.
Pakistan’s data minister and the international ministry didn’t reply to requests for touch upon the obvious contradiction within the nation’s positions over the weekend.
