On the very first day of my clerkship, Justice Trivedi described herself as a tough taskmaster, and somebody who takes her work very critically. To recall an incident that displays this facet of her, she was as soon as engaged on a case involving some committee experiences. We have been tasked to arrange transient notes on the experiences and transient her on it. Because the subsequent day was a miscellaneous day, we couldn’t work on it throughout common hours. Justice Trivedi then sat with us past midnight, simply to undergo the report. At one other occasion, whereas assigning some work, she requested one among us how we have been doing. As my co-LR spoke concerning the workload, Justice Trivedi shared her life expertise as an advocate when she used to begin her work at 3 AM, and mentioned, “By no means take a look at the watch whereas working.”
As regulation clerks, our weekdays began at 8:00-8.30 AM and usually ended at round 10.00-10.30 PM. The weekends have been reserved for drafting judgments and associated analysis work, and relishing Gujarati delicacies, from Khaman to Khandvi. This schedule remained intact all all through her judgeship, even whereas she was taking care of her ailing father in Ahmedabad on the weekends and on days when she was below the climate and will barely utter a phrase.
